Keeping Up With Ms. J. L. Johnson
I want to try something new because I know I’m not the only person feeling shame. A complicated experience of shame and vulnerability and confusion and trying to last-lack of endurance-definite confusion and trying to make decisions that are true and not act from desperation.
I think that could be best done in a character profile of who I am today:

let it be known that
as soon as i have a way/the money, i am leaving New York. i was bat shit crazy to try to be here again, but at the time it was my best option for my decision to return to the US. that was crisis mode, i have to make a plan for best case scenario OR goal also known as WHAT I ACTUALLY WANT and get there because this city is going to kill me. you can’t experience another city that isn’t...

managed to
write about 2400 words of journaling towards my own writing. none much more of the other work i had to do. but yeah for the triumph on my own writing getting out. thoughts that were swirling around in my head.
i am doing better with the “normal” mode of writeordie.com than the “gentle” in which i just continued to click okay and look at other shit. it might be a problem that the annoying sound is going off in my ears right now and i’m still just bobbing my head to Toro y Moi. I might have to do “evil” and “kamikaze” (problematic?) bc i’m...
current conundrum: procrastinating by reading about how to stop procrastinating?
you know those moments where you wish you had just written what you needed to write when you decided to take that nap and then your whole shit gone thrown off and then you wasted your whole night accidentally watching the Billboard Music Awards (redeeming yourself only by catching Prince) and trying to make up for it...

Creative Nonfiction Prompt
from Poets & Writers
Make a list of the physical objects you carry with you: a wallet and phone, a journal and pen, medications and mementos. Then make a list of the non-objects you carry: memories, ideas, dreams, scars (literal or figurative), the people or places of your past. Once you’ve created both lists, write an essay that incorporates and investigates the items on each. Why do...

so i had the chance to go see Julie Delpy, Ethan Hawke and Richard Linklater at TWO different talkbacks and decided/happened not to bc of conversations i was already having. i’m looking at pictures from the events and videos on YouTube and realizing that when you’re in New York this shit where you have the chance to be in the same room as people who made this movie/these movies you...

These 11-Year-Olds Are Metal As Fuck
jadedpunk:
There is a metal band in Brooklyn called Unlocking The Truth that is made up of three 11-year-olds. They make every band in the nu-metal scene look like total garbage. Not that that was difficult.
These kids have some seriously dope metally riffs and breakdowns. Not sure when they have time to come up with those in between doing homework and…I don’t know, what do 11-year-olds do...
